Wake Me Up When November Gets Here 2008

Once again we are under siege by the media carrying the message of hope and fear from the two presidential candidates. And once again I really don't want to vote for either. Granted this is a better crop than 2004.

You then had a completely ineffective moron who led us into a quagmire with little idea of how to deal with it. And the Democrats then proceeded to find the one asshole who could lose to him. If the Democrats were picking a playgound team for basketball they would go for the short, fat kid with asthma because he could diagram a great play.

This time around McCain is not as bad as Bush, but that is primarily because it would be very difficult to find someone that incompetent who hasn't already become a nominee for the Darwin Awards or is holding down an occupation that involves the phrase "What size would you like that value meal?" McCain at one time seemed an outsider, someone who wasn't business as usual. Somewhere along the line he strapped on the kneepads and started to fellate the neocons and give reach arounds to the typical GOP party faithful.

Obama was my hope. My hope isn't so hopeful anymore. I wanted someone new. Someone who represented a change of thinking. He still might be that. Some of his policy ideas just don't sound like the wisest moves so it worries me. I would love to see him succeed and get an effective team together that can get things done. This is the government we are talking about so I might as well wish for a leprechaun to stop by, give me a pot of gold, enlarge my penis and lower my credit card APR.

So, we got a couple more months of them pissing on each other's legs while whistling a happy tune. Hopefully I will survive.
